Evan Lu

Deputy Executive Director of Conference

Nick Liu

Evan (he/him) is a sophomore in Saybrook College from Berwyn, Pennsylvania majoring in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology and Economics. He is especially interested in global healthcare policy and public health emergency coordination. Beyond YIRLI, he is involved with the Yale Club Squash Team and Yale Foreign Policy Initiative. Last year, he served as YIRLI’s Director of External Affairs. He also has some more eccentric interests: Wikipedia editing, cooking, and skimming the New York Times, just to name a few. Sahra Wahedi

Sahra (she/her) is a junior in Pierson College from Queens, New York, majoring in Global Affairs. She previously served as an Under-Secretary-General of Branding for YMUN Dubai and YMUN LI. Last year, she was the Co-Director of Communications for YIRLI. Outside of YIRLI, Sahra is the Executive Director of the Yale International Relations Association, a Senator for the Yale College Council, and a Peer Liaison for the Middle Eastern North African Cultural Community. In her free time, she loves stargazing, traveling, and exploring local cafés. She is excited to meet you all this summer! Victor Mutinda

Victor (he/him) is a rising junior in Ezra Stiles from Nairobi, Kenya, majoring in Global Affairs and African Studies, with potentially a certificate in Human Rights Studies. He serves as a Peer Liaison for the Office of International Students and Scholars, works as a Head of College Office Aide in Stiles, designs for Maison, and is the treasurer for Dwight Hall’s Brightspaces Murals. Outside of class, you’ll find him exploring New Haven’s restaurant scene, thrifting hidden gems, binging TV shows, or hanging out with friends. He’s passionate about International Relations and can’t wait to welcome you to YIRLI this summer! Director of Curriculum

Sarah Jeddy

Sarah Jeddy is one of YIRLI’s Directors of Curriculum, and is a rising junior from New York City. She is pursuing a degree in History, concentrating in International and Diplomatic Histories, as well as obtaining certificates in Food, Agriculture, & Climate Change and Advanced Spanish Language. Sarah is also involved with the Yale Review of International Studies, where she is both an interviewer and a writer, and is Head of Events for WYBC Yale Radio, where she organizes concerts every other week. Michelle Jimenez

Michelle Jimenez (she/her) is a rising sophomore in Pauli Murray College from El Paso, Texas, pursuing degrees in Economics and potentially Global Affairs. On campus she’s involved in Kesem, Moot Court, the Murray College Council, and Bridges ESL. She spends her free time reading, attending the many of her suitemates’ dance performances, and working for the Student Technology Collaborative. She’s a first generation Mexican-American with family near Mexico City, and she enjoys living on the Mexican-American border. She cannot wait to experience YIRLI for the first time this summer as the Director of External Affairs. Nick (he/him) is a rising Junior from Long Island, New York pursuing degrees in Economics and Humanities. He is Chinese American with roots in Beijing and Nanjing, and cares deeply for vintage fashion, the written word, and eclectic, intercultural creativity. Nick is involved with Yale MUN conferences both abroad and at home in New Haven, leads projects with the Yale Global Strategy Consulting Group, and works for the Yale Chaplain’s Office. He enjoys weightlifting, talking about music, and growing his collection of unfinished books and writing projects. After serving as the Director of Community last year, Nick is ecstatic to return to YIRLI for a second summer. Samuel Rosenberg

Sam (he/him) is a rising sophomore from New Haven, Connecticut, pursuing a major in history with a concentration in politics, law and government. He participated in YIRLI 2022 as a high school student and looks forward to participating in YIRLI 2025 as a Co-Director of Communications. Outside of YIRLI, Sam is a Co-Director of Community at Hemispheres, a free international relations program for New Haven youth, and a contributing writer for the Yale Literary Magazine and the Yale Herald. He was previously an ASG of Delegations at YMUN LI. In his spare time, he enjoys designing board games, writing political essays, and watching artsy movies, and can be seen in the wild eating a chicken wrap at Garden Catering. Alexis Lam

Alexis (she/her) is a rising junior in Ezra Stiles College from Long Beach, California. She is a Political Science major with an International Relations Concentration. She was previously Under-Secretary-General of Branding for YMUN Europe and YMUN LI. Outside of YIRLI, she is also an Undergraduate Research Assistant for the Institution for Social and Policy Studies, a staff reporter and photographer for the Yale Daily News, Marketing and Publicity Chair for Dwight Hall’s Brightspaces, and a member of the Chinese dance group: Red Lantern. She’s also a student ambassador for the London School of Economics Summer School. In her free time, she enjoys listening to music, reading, embroidering and getting coffee with friends. Isabel Nuno

Isabel Nuño (she/her) is a rising junior in Davenport College from Fort Smith, Arkansas, pursuing degrees in Global Affairs and Anthropology. She is a first-generation Mexican-American with family roots in Baja California and Guadalajara, Jalisco. She is passionate about space policy, artificial intelligence, and the empowerment of underserved communities. Isabel is currently a peer liaison at La Casa, a choreographer in Ballet Folklórico, and a FOOT leader. In her spare time, she enjoys listening to music, hanging out with friends, and spending time in nature. This is her first time with YIRLI, and she is really excited to be co-director of curriculum.
